Camden Labour last Thursday selected youth worker Awale Olad to fight the Kentish Town ward by-election, caused by the sudden resignation of Lib Dem Cllr. Philip Thompson after his shock move to Arizona. To get in touch with Awale or to help his campaign, please email kentishtown@camdenlabour.org.uk.
Tories lose key Hampstead stronghold
Posted on September 25th, 2008 by admin. Filed under Elections.
At the by-election in Hampstead Town ward on 25 September, Labour ensured our vote was barely squeezed and maintained third place over the Greens, whilst the Tories and the Lib Dems slugged it out.
The Tories must be very disappointed that, with a vigorous campaign, they did not run the Lib Dems more closely, especially taking into account all the negative coverage in the press on ‘Arizonagate’.
